Brittany
Jutting defiantly out into the Atlantic ocean, this rugged peninsula has
long been culturally and geographically distinct from the rest of France.
Brittany is lined with smooth sunny beeches, wave-battered crags, interspersed with seasoned fishing ports and established seaside resorts.
The regions largest cities, Nantes and Rennes, are cosmopolitan and have a buzzing feel. The proud port of St Malo, full of maritime history and the magnificent fortress town of Fourgeres are well worth visiting. This Celtic province offers medieval castles, grand manors and fine churches for a wedding in mild climates.
Coming and Going
By car Brittany has two ferry ports Roscoff and St Malo, and a good road network from these spread across the area. By train the TGV runs from Paris to Brest, Rennes and Quimper.
Four airports Rennes, Brest, St Brieuc and Nantes all make for easy access to everyone.
